Before you register for the course, here's some information you might find useful:
- This training is intended to deepen your understanding of what civility is, heighten your appreciation for how civility is important to our society and our governing process, increase your civility skills, and empower you to make a difference.
- The cost of this training is $25.00. Payment is made through PayPal, which offers a variety of ways to pay without having a PayPal account.
- THE ENTIRE TRAINING MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 14 DAYS OF YOUR REGISTRATION. There are no refunds for failure to complete the course within 14 days, and you will be required to pay a new course fee and begin the course again to obtain a Certificate of Completion.
- The course consists of reading sections on several areas of civility. After allowing you time to read each section, multiple choice or true/false questions are revealed to confirm your comprehension. If you answer a question incorrectly, you will be returned to the reading section for additional study and presented with the same question again. Once the question is answered correctly, you may be presented with a short explanation of the correct answer. Again, time is allowed for your reading before you are given the opportunity to move on to the next section.
- Training should take about 30-45 minutes to complete. You can leave the course at any point and, within the 14-day time limit for completing the training, return to that same point later without having to restart the course.
- Training is based on the book Reclaiming Civility in the Public Square 10 Rules That Work, by Cassandra Dahnke, Tomas Spath, and Donna Bowling. All of the rules that inform this training are applicable to a wide variety of situations from across the kitchen table to international diplomacy. The book is available online by clicking here.
